INTERNATIONAL MEETING ON THE GLOBALIZATION OF SOLIDARITY
THE ECONOMY OF SOLIDARITY: A NORTH-SOUTH PERSPECTIVE

Program

The programme will consist of round-table plenaries in the morning and thematic workshops in the afternoon. Here is a look at the topics we are planning to discuss:

Workshop 1: Financing the social economy and the economy of solidarity.
Workshop 2: The social economy/economy of solidarity and community development.
Workshop 3: The social economy/economy of solidarity and development cooperation.

Workshop 1: The social economy/economy of solidarity and front-line services (health and
social services, food security, etc.)
Workshop 2: The social economy/economy of solidarity and public policy.
Workshop 3: The social economy/economy of solidarity and housing.

Workshop 1: The social economy/economy of solidarity and fair trade.
Workshop 2: The social economy/economy of solidarity and employment (self- employment/job retention).
Workshop 3: The social economy/economy of solidarity and sustainable development.

Presentation of workshop findings and discussion on the Québec City Declaration 2001.

We will be organizing intensive practicums to encourage networking between participants involved in social economy and economy of solidarity initiatives around the world.
