Welcome!

The Cognitive Neuroscience Center is a research unit at the  University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM), whose members are specialized in neuropsychology, studying neuromotor function, and cognitive sciences. The Center has major research programs on functions of subcortical and frontal brain systems, as well as  on populations with dysfunctions involving these systems.

Research projects concentrate on motor aspects such as tremor, dyskinesia, speech and visually-guided voluntary movements, as well as cognitive aspects such as action planning, attention, memory, and language.

The methods used at the Center include computerized testing, fine motor evaluation, brain imaging , psychopharmacology, and computer modeling. The populations examined include individuals with neurological and psychiatric disorders (ex: Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, frontal lobe damage in children and adults, neuropsychiatric disorders…).
